Attention Teens: Banned Book Challenge

Updated: Sep 3, 2020

September brings Banned Books Week so why not stop by the library and read a few banned and challenged books available on our shelves?

From now until Halloween, the SPL is holding a Banned Books Reading Challenge where patrons can read banned and challenged books and books over controversial topics, fill out a reading log, and submit their logs into a raffle for one of two prizes: Bookish goodies from the American Library Association, and a gift card to CK Sweets.

This challenge can be done in person, or online at: https://engagedpatrons.org/read/index.cfm?SiteID=5546&ReadID=853 (If you participated in the SRP challenge, simply log in using that account!)

This challenge is open for Teens and Adults so don't be shy!

Banned books touch on sensitive topics that often offended people. Although there are many topics to choose from we decided to focus on these ones.
