HANDOUT GAMES – play with included apple handouts

Can You Show Me…?

(Tune: “Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush”)

Can you show me the red apple?

Red apple, red apple?

Can you show me the red apple?

And wave it in the air?

Green… yellow… orange… pink

Hold It High – Choose one apple from handouts

Hold your apple high and stand

Now wave it around in gestures grand!

Hold your apple below your chin

Now hold it way up high again

Hold your apple against your nose

Now touch the apple to your toes

Touch your apple to the ground

Now wave that apple all around!

Hold your apple in front of you

Now turn around – one time, two!

Hold your apple and jump up high!

Now let your apple fly fly fly (throw it in the air)

SONGS & INSTRUMENT – use included instruments

Are You Hungry? by Super Simple Songs

“In the Mood for Food!” Cooking Dance by Danny Go!

Fruit Song by The Kiboomers

Vegetables Song by The Kiboomers

BOUNCE RHYME (bounce along with child in lap)

Pop! Pop! Pop!

Put the corn into the pot,

Pop! Pop! Pop!

(lift child up with every pop)

Shake and shake it ‘til it’s hot. (shake)

Pop! Pop! Pop!

Lift the lid and what have you got?

Pop! Pop! Pop!

POPCORN!

ACTION RHYMES

Picked a Strawberry

(Tune: Clementine)

Picked a strawberry,

Picked a strawberry,

That was growing in the sun,

Then I washed it and I ate it,

And I picked another one.

Raspberry…

Blueberry…

Watermelon…

Any other fruit!

Five Little Gingerbread Men

Five little gingerbread men in a row

Not going to eat one no, no, no.

(shake finger and head side to side)

But they look so sweet from head to toe

Crunch, munch...uh oh!

Four little gingerbread men…

Three little gingerbread men…

Two little gingerbread men…

One little gingerbread man…

No little gingerbread men in a row

Wasn’t going to eat one, no, no, no

But they looked so sweet that it’s sad to tell

Crunch, munch... oh well!

Little Red Apple

A little red apple

Hung high in a tree

I looked up at it

And it looked down at me

“Come down, please,” I called

And what do you suppose?

That little red apple

Dropped right on my nose!

Soup’s On!

(Tune: “Sound Off”)

Carrots, beans, and potatoes

Corn and peas and tomatoes

Mix and stir up in a pot.

Smells so good as it gets hot!

Soup’s on—1, 2!

Soup’s on—3, 4!

1, 2, 3, 4

Let’s eat a good treat!

The Farmer Plants the Seeds

(Tune: “Farmer in the Dell”)

The farmer plants the seeds.

The farmer plants the seeds.

Hi ho the derry-o,

The farmer plants the seeds.

The rain begins to fall...

The sun begins to shine...

The seeds begin to grow…

The plants grow big and tall...

The farmer cuts his corn...

And now the harvest is on....
