Once upon a time, someone suggested Kiss Number 8 to me... and I was emotionally devastated in the best way. So now, I'm trying to pay it forward! What starts out as a seemingly normal learning-to-be-yourself high school drama turns into so much more!
What did I like most about it? Books about finding yourself have always had a special place in my heart. I couldn't help but fall headfirst into the whirlwind surrounding Mads, her family, and her sometimes ridiculously toxic friends. And that doesn't even describe the half of it! I wish I could say more than this, but I'd ruin the twist(s). It looks like you'll just have to read it and find out for yourself! —Anna
Amanda (or Mads) can’t figure out what’s so exciting about kissing. It’s just a lot of teeth clanking, germ swapping, closing of eyes so you can’t see that godzilla-sized zit just inches from your own hormonal monstrosity. All of her seven kisses had been horrible in different ways, but nothing compared to the awfulness that followed Kiss Number Eight. An exploration of sexuality, family, and faith, Kiss Number 8 is a coming-of-age tale filled with humor and hope.
