"Mice Twice" by Joseph Low
"Cat and Miss Mouse become involved in a round of uneasy hospitality when Miss Mouse accepts Cat’s dinner invitation. While Cat expects her to walk right into his trap, Miss Mouse outsmarts him by asking her close friend Dog to join her. The animals perform a literal game of cat-and-mouse through dinner invitations, continuously amping up their efforts until a hilarious and fitting conclusion results. Mice Twice is a charming, funny and thoughtful fable about friendship, cleverness, irony, self-awareness and manners."
Everything is yours to keep!!!
You will have the book read to you by actor Ty Burrell. He did such a great job; we hope you enjoy his reading as much as we did!

(bounce child up high)
Sneaky cat. Sneaky cat.
Sneaking all over the house.
(bounce child slowly)

ACTION RHYMES
Mrs. Kitty’s Dinner
Mrs. Kitty, sleek and fat,
(put thumb up with fingers folded on right hand)
With her kittens four.
(hold up four fingers on right hand)
Went to sleep upon the mat.
(Make a fist)
By the kitchen door.
Mrs. Kitty heard a noise.
Up she jumped in glee.
(thumb up on right hand)
“Kittens, maybe that’s a mouse?
(all five fingers on right hand up)
Let’s go and see!”
Creeping, creeping, creeping on.
(slowly sneaking with five fingers on floor)
Silently they stole.
But the little mouse had gone
(wiggle thumb on left hand)
Back into his hole.
(hide left thumb behind back)
The Mouse Ran Around the Room
(Tune: “The Bear Went Over the Mountain”)
The mouse ran around the room,
The mouse ran around the room,
The mouse ran around the room,
And what do you think she saw?
She saw a great big cat.
She saw a great big cat,
She saw a great big cat,
So what do you think she did?
The mouse ran into her hole,
The mouse ran into her hole,
The mouse ran into her hole,
Safe and sound at last!
Teasing Mr. Cat
Five little mice hiding by a tree
(hold up five fingers and wiggle them)
Teasing Mr. Cat, “Can’t catch me!”
Along comes Mr. Cat, quiet as can be…
SNAP!
(clap hands)
Four little mice…
Three little mice…
Two little mice…
One little mouse…
Kitty Cat
I have a kitty cat named Puff.
(hold up one thumb)
He’s round and soft as a ball of fluff.
(make a circle with finger and thumb of other hand)
Each day he laps up all his milk.
(pretend to lap milk)
And his fur is soft as silk.
(stroke thumb with other hand)
When he’s happy you’ll know, yup,
(nod head)
For his fluffy tail stands straight up!
(wiggle finger like a tail and point straight up)
