Today's all-ages program was Beach Animals with Maureen from Eco Discovery!
Maureen read Bats at the Beach, then showed everyone a water turtle's shell and a replica of a turtle egg (complete with baby turtle!), before passing around many different kinds of shells.
Then we met the star of the show! Mate is a red bearded dragon from Australia. These bearded dragons live on red sand beaches and thus are colored to match.
Everyone got a chance to pet Mate!
He's softer than he looks! And very calm.
Mate also hung out on shoulders! Check out our awesome volunteer in the center, and one of our attendees (not pictured; me!).
