"The Tale of Peter Rabbit" by Beatrix Potter

"Now, my dears," said old Mrs Rabbit one morning, "you may go into the fields or down the lane, but don't go into Mr. McGregor's garden." But what does Peter Rabbit do? Beatrix Potter's delightful 'Tale of Peter Rabbit' tells the story.

You will have the book read to you by actress Rose Byrne. She did such a great job; we hope you enjoy her reading as much as we did!

Kits include:

  • colors game (5 colored rabbits)

  • a flyer for this website

Can You Show Me…?

And wave it in the air?

Brown… yellow… white… blue

Hold It High – Choose one rabbit from handouts

Hold your rabbit high and stand

Now wave it around in gestures grand!

Hold your rabbit below your chin

Now hold it way up high again

Hold your rabbit against your nose

Now touch the rabbit to your toes

Touch your rabbit to the ground

Now wave that rabbit all around!

Hold your rabbit in front of you

Now turn around – one time, two!

Hold your rabbit and jump up high!

Now let your rabbit fly fly fly (throw it in the air)

I saw his little eyes

Go blink, blink, blink

Won’t you stay?”

He just looked at me,

And hopped away

Did You Ever See A Bunny?

(Sung to “Did You Ever See A Lassie?”)

Did you ever see a bunny, a bunny, a bunny

Did you ever see a bunny that hops so slow

He hops, and hops, and hops, and hops

Did you ever see a bunny that hops so slow

…that hops so fast?

…that hops backwards?

…that hops on one foot?

Funny Bunny

Here is a bunny with ears so funny

(Raise two fingers.)

And here is a hole in the ground.

(Make hole with fingers of other hand.)

At the first sound she hears, she pricks up her ears

(Straighten fingers.)

And pops right into the ground.

(Put fingers in hole.)

Put your left foot out

It's the new sensation

Come join, everyone!

Do the Bunny Hop

Hop, hop, hop!

Five Little Bunnies Went Out to Play

Hippety hop and hippety hay,

Five little bunnies went out to play.

Hippety hop and hippety hay,

One little bunny hopped away.

Four little bunnies...

Three little bunnies...

Two little bunnies...

One little bunny...

Hippety hop and hippety hay,

No more bunnies are playing today.

Hippety hop and hippety hay,

I hope they come back another day.
